Security Supervisor
About this role
BOURBON Oil & Gas is seeking a Security Supervisor based in Rivers. The role involves vigilant CCTV monitoring of onshore facilities and company vessels, identifying unsafe conditions or security risks, and promptly alerting appropriate personnel. You will support investigations by locating and handling CCTV footage, producing objective observations and timelines, and reporting to the Deputy Security Manager. The job requires following approved security and information handling procedures and coordinating monitoring staff and shifts. It is suited for someone with extensive CCTV and security monitoring experience within an oil and gas or maritime context.
What you would do
- Receive handover and confirm camera register, vessel/site identities, priorities and incidents.
- Conduct disciplined live monitoring using approved scan sequences and maintain priority coverage.
- Identify suspicious access, hazards and security risks and escalate as required.
- Recognise and report vessel/offshore risks during embarkation, transfers, bunkering and mooring.
- Distinguish live versus delayed or recorded feeds and note image limitations.
- Coordinate relief before leaving position or starting extended footage searches.
- Respond to alarms with concise warnings and track responder actions.
- Preserve relevant footage and ensure evidence integrity and traceability.
- Communicate findings clearly to the Deputy Security Manager and assigned personnel.
- Escalate unresolved urgent alerts as needed.
What they are asking for
- Higher Diploma or Degree in a relevant discipline (Security Management, IT, Electronics, Maritime Operations or related); Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- At least five years’ security, surveillance or control-room experience, including two years of hands-on CCTV monitoring and footage retrieval, and one year coordinating shifts or personnel.
- Documented CCTV/control-room operator training or equivalent covering observation, alarm handling, video search, export and incident reporting.
- Proven ability for sustained visual observation, accurate record-keeping, and clear shift communication with corrective support if needed.
