Security Operations (SecOps) Engineer

About this role

TeKnowledge in Lagos is seeking a Security Operations (SecOps) Engineer to monitor and respond to security alerts and support security operations across cloud, on premises, and identity platforms. The role is for someone with experience in security operations and incident response to help protect systems and data, with duties spanning tooling administration, firewall controls, and Azure security.

What you would do

• Monitor, investigate, and triage security alerts from SIEM, EDR/XDR, firewalls, email security, and cloud platforms.
• Support incident response activities including containment, remediation, and recovery.
• Administer and support security solutions including Microsoft Sentinel, Defender XDR, Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Office 365, Defender for Identity, Defender for Cloud Apps, Microsoft Purview DLP, Microsoft Entra ID Protection, and Darktrace Email or equivalent.
• Assist with tuning alerts and improving detection capabilities.
• Implement and maintain firewall policies and security controls, including Palo Alto devices and VPN services.
• Perform vulnerability assessments, coordinate remediation, and assist with security hardening initiatives.
