Security Officer

About this role

Hyatt Regency Lagos Ikeja seeks a Security Officer to provide a visible, professional security presence and ensure safety procedures are followed across the hotel. The role supports hotel operations by preventing loss, protecting assets and assisting with investigations when required. The officer works with the security leadership team and other departments to maintain a safe environment for guests, associates, visitors and property. The position requires vigilance, integrity, discretion and a service-oriented approach, handling interventions calmly and respectfully while maintaining confidentiality.

What you would do

• Monitor hotel premises and conduct security patrols
• Control access to restricted areas
• Observe and report suspicious activities
• Respond promptly to incidents and emergencies
• Assist with investigations as required
• Support the smooth running of hotel operations
• Collaborate with security leadership and other departments
• Maintain guest and associate confidentiality
• Demonstrate calm, professional conduct in all situations
• Engage in fire safety, evacuation procedures and safety practices as needed

• Senior Secondary School Certificate or equivalent
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Relevant security training or certification is an advantage
• Experience in security operations, preferably in hotel or hospitality environments
• Knowledge of access control, patrols, incident reporting and emergency response
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with guests, staff and contractors
• Flexibility to work shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays
• Good physical fitness for patrols and duties
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and exercise good judgement
• Integrity, discretion and respect for procedures
