Sector Head, Transportation

About this role

The Sector Head, Transportation is a banking role responsible for leading the bank’s relationships with clients in the Transportation sector and driving sector growth. It involves directing a team, supporting relationship managers, and developing plans to meet targets in Lagos on behalf of DET Consulting Limited’s client.

What you would do

• Formulate and supervise the implementation of strategies, targets and marketing goals for the Transportation Sector with the Group Head.
• Develop and implement initiatives to achieve the sector's budget and financial targets, and monitor performance.
• Build and manage relationships with key customers in airlines, road transport, rail, maritime, shipping and logistics, understanding their needs and delivering solutions.
• Lead credit activities: analyse and review credit facilities and structure workout packages for delinquent facilities.
• Drive revenue growth by cross-selling bank products and identifying profitable assets and stable liabilities to optimise funding.
• Manage and develop the sector team: assign tasks, set targets, train staff and conduct performance appraisals.

• First degree or equivalent; master’s degree or equivalent adds advantage.
• Related professional qualification adds advantage.
• Minimum 10 years’ cognate experience, including sector experience.
• Deep knowledge of credit analysis and bank credit policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of treasury operations and strong IT proficiency.
• Leadership, communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work under pressure.
