Second-Level (L2) Security Engineer
About this role
A Second-Level (L2) Security Engineer is sought to join Tenece Professional Services Limited in Lagos. The role involves providing advanced technical support for enterprise security solutions, troubleshooting complex security incidents, and assisting with deployments to ensure security platforms operate effectively across client environments. The candidate should have strong technical, analytical, and customer service skills and be able to work with teams and clients on security projects and incidents.
What you would do
- Provide second-level support for enterprise security solutions and resolve complex issues from L1 support.
- Perform system diagnostics, log analysis, health checks, and root-cause analysis.
- Install, configure, maintain and upgrade cybersecurity solutions.
- Support security technologies such as SIEM, EDR/XDR, DLP, IAM/PAM, WAF, DAM, vulnerability management and network security tools.
- Monitor performance, availability and operational health of security platforms.
- Manage technical escalations with OEMs and vendors to meet SLAs.
- Support deployments, testing, PoC/PoV activities and customer demonstrations.
- Prepare technical documentation, incident reports, troubleshooting guides and RCA reports.
- Collaborate with L1 and L3 engineers, project teams and customers.
- Participate in technical meetings, knowledge-transfer sessions, maintenance, and on-call support when required.

- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity engineering, security operations or enterprise security technical support.
- Experience in supporting and troubleshooting enterprise security solutions.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, VPNs, firewalls and network traffic analysis.
- Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Experience analysing security logs, investigating incidents and resolving technical issues.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities and collaborate within a technical team.
