School Cleaner
About this role
Forton Schools in Lagos is looking for a full-time School Cleaner to maintain a clean and hygienic learning environment. The role covers daily cleaning of classrooms, offices, restrooms, and the school grounds, as well as restocking supplies and ensuring safety and tidiness throughout the day. The school emphasises regular cleaning to support safe learning for pupils, teachers, and visitors. The candidate should be hardworking, reliable and trustworthy, with the ability to follow safety guidelines and communicate in English or local languages. Applicants must reside in or near Igando, Ikotun, or Alimosho for timely attendance.
What you would do
- Sweep, mop and vacuum floors in classrooms, hallways, offices and staff room before and during school hours
- Dust and wipe desks, chairs, windowsills, whiteboards, door handles and handrails
- Clean, disinfect and scrub restrooms for students and staff multiple times daily
- Empty and dispose of waste into designated outdoor dumpsters
- Monitor cleaning supplies and notify management when restocking is needed
- Keep the playground, entrance and corridors free of litter and hazards
- Maintain hygiene and safety by following proper cleaning methods and chemical handling
- Ensure daily cleaning of classrooms, offices and common areas
- Assist with general upkeep to create a safe school environment
- Follow safety rules and read cleaning chemical instructions
