A UNICEF Nigeria consultant role focused on mobilising catalytic finance for the WASH sector and supporting the Sanitation Programme Facility. What you would do

• Support the mobilisation of catalytic finance for the WASH sector.
• Assist in the preparation of the Sanitation Programme Facility (SPF) in Nigeria.
• Collaborate with UNICEF offices and partners to unlock financing mechanisms for sanitation.
• Translate financial concepts into accessible information for diverse audiences.
• Develop and implement financial models and project ideas that support development goals.
• Support concept note or proposal development for large-scale financing.
• Engage with climate finance, development banks, and IFIs as relevant.
• Contribute to knowledge management and reporting for external audiences.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify financial models for PPPs and private investment in WASH.

• Master's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, international development or related field (or a first degree with 5 additional years of relevant experience).
• At least 10 years of relevant finance experience with emphasis on impact investing or blended finance.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with international development organizations or IFIs.
• Minimum 2 years of experience working in Nigeria (sub-Saharan Africa experience desirable).
• Experience supporting project concept notes or proposals for large-scale financing.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of a local Nigerian language is an asset.
• Strong financial analysis, project management, and ability to design financial models.
• Knowledge of WASH sector financing concepts and PPPs.
• Experience with knowledge management and external reporting.
