Sand Blasting and Painting Technician
About this role
A Sand Blasting and Painting Technician role based in Lagos for Bell Oil & Gas, focused on surface preparation, sandblasting and applying primers and topcoats to valves in line with company procedures. It targets candidates with industrial valve blasting and painting experience in oil and gas or related sectors who can work with painting and blasting equipment.
What you would do
- Clean and prepare surface areas prior to sandblasting
- Prepare valve surfaces by abrasive blasting and masking
- Perform pre-start equipment checks
- Carry out abrasive sandblasting and industrial painting of valves
- Maintain sandblasting and painting equipment and tools
- Maintain records and manage consumables and materials
What they are asking for
- ON D/HND in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Welding & Fabrication or related field
- Trade test, vocational certification in industrial blasting and painting or automotive spray painting (added advantage)
- Minimum 3 years of industrial valve blasting and painting experience in oil and gas, automotive or power sectors
- Experience using abrasive blasting and painting tools and equipment
- Ability to measure wet film thickness (WFT) and dry film thickness (DFT)
- Good teamwork and strong HSE culture
