Sales Manager – Public Sector
About this role
The role is for a Sales Manager - Public Sector at CloudPlexo, based in Abuja, to lead the government and public institution business. You will manage the full sales cycle, from spotting opportunities and engaging decision-makers to leading bids and closing multi-year contracts, with a focus on selling complex IT services to the public sector and navigating public procurement processes.
What you would do
- Develop and implement a public sector sales strategy aligned with company growth targets.
- Identify, qualify and pursue opportunities across national, regional and local government entities and other public institutions.
- Maintain a healthy sales pipeline with accurate forecasting and regular reporting to leadership.
- Monitor procurement portals, lead bid/no-bid decisions and coordinate responses to RFIs, RFPs, EOIs and tenders; ensure compliant, high-quality proposals.
- Build trusted relationships with senior government officials and stakeholders; manage and expand public sector accounts; identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
- Lead commercial negotiations, pricing strategy, and contract finalisation; ensure smooth handover to delivery teams.

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Marketing or related field.
- 7+ years of B2B sales experience in IT services, consulting or technology solutions, with at least 4 years selling to the public sector.
- Proven track record of winning and closing large, complex public sector contracts; knowledge of public procurement laws, tendering processes and budgeting cycles.
- Established network of relationships within government ministries, agencies or public institutions.
- Good understanding of IT solutions such as cloud, cybersecurity, ERP, digital government platforms, data analytics and managed services.
- Excellent proposal writing, presentation, and negotiation skills.
