Sales Associate
About this role
Amy Consulting in Lagos is seeking a Sales Associate to help identify customer needs, promote and sell products, and maintain strong customer relationships. The role involves processing sales transactions, handling enquiries and complaints, and ensuring displays and stock are orderly. The employee will stay informed about products, pricing and promotions, and work with the team to improve sales and customer satisfaction. The position targets customers and supports the company’s sales objectives within a retail environment.
What you would do
- Welcome and attend to customers professionally and identify their needs
- Recommend suitable products and promote sales to meet targets
- Provide information on product features, prices, availability and promotions
- Process orders, sales transactions, receipts and payments accurately
- Maintain product displays, stock shelves, and keep the sales area clean and organised
- Monitor stock levels, report low-stock items, and assist with inventory counts
- Handle customer enquiries, complaints and returns professionally and escalate when needed
- Keep accurate records of daily sales and customer orders
- Stay informed about products, pricing, promotions and competitors
- Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to improve sales performance and customer satisfaction

- Minimum of OND or equivalent in Business Administration, Marketing or related field (advantage)
- Previous experience in sales, retail or customer service (advantage)
- Good communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
- Basic numeracy and ability to handle sales transactions accurately
- Ability to persuade, negotiate and close sales
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with POS systems (advantage)
- Strong attention to detail, honesty and customer-focused attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
