Safety Officer

What you would do

• Maintain HSE documentation and support management reviews and external audits.
• Support operations in enforcing journey management, driver fitness, vehicle roadworthiness and defensive driving for haulage fleet.
• Exercise stop-work authority when there is imminent danger and ensure staff and contractors use it.
• Ensure incidents, near misses and unsafe acts/conditions are reported, investigated and root-cause analyzed; track corrective actions to closure.
• Notify regulators of reportable incidents as required by law.
• Implement pollution prevention and environmental controls including spill, effluent, vapour, emission, noise and nuisance controls.
• Plan and conduct HSE inspections, audits and unannounced visits at stations, depots, tank trucks and project sites; report findings with risk rankings.
• Prepare monthly HSE and compliance reports and dashboards for management covering performance, incidents, audits and licence status.
• Advise management on HSE aspects of insurance requirements, claims and new business activities.
