Safety Manager
About this role
A Safety Manager is sought by Hyatt Regency Lagos Ikeja to oversee health, safety, fire and environmental programs across the hotel. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with local laws, Hyatt standards and international safety practices while fostering a safety culture among staff, guests, contractors and visitors. What you would do
- Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments across all hotel departments
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and recommend corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and fire safety regulations
- Maintain records and documentation related to safety compliance
- Develop, implement and monitor workplace health and safety policies and procedures
- Conduct routine inspections of fire alarms, firefighting equipment, emergency lighting, and evacuation systems
- Coordinate fire drills and emergency preparedness exercises
- Deliver safety training programs and promote safety awareness across the hotel
- Perform risk assessments before events, projects and maintenance activities
- Lead investigations into workplace accidents, security incidents and property damage
What they are asking for
- Professional certification in Health and Safety (NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, HSE Level 3 or equivalent preferred)
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian safety regulations and international safety standards
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HSE management, preferably in hospitality or large service organisations
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Security Management or related field
