Safety and Security Officer

About this role

A Safety & Security Officer role with New Incentives, based in Niger State/North Central, focused on field security for NGO operations and expatriate support. The position requires frequent field visits, strong communication in English and Hausa, and at least two years’ NGO security experience; successful candidates must be willing to reside in Niger State and travel to clinics and field sites as needed.

What you would do

• Maintain regular contact with field managers and field officers
• Coordinate security updates with high and medium risk clinics and verify staff reports
• Document special security reports and inform the Security Manager
• Prioritise communication with high/medium risk clinics and stakeholders
• Draft security reports and oversee actions taken
• Support incident management and provide recommendations to field managers

• BSc or equivalent in a social sciences discipline
• Minimum of 2 years’ NGO security or humanitarian security experience
• Strong oral and written communication in English and Hausa
• Ability to conduct security assessments and context analysis
• Good organisational skills, time management and ability to multitask
• Willingness to reside in any LGA within Funtua Zone and frequent field missions
