About this role

AIDHealth Inc. is seeking a Safeguarding Focal Point to oversee safeguarding, PSEA and related processes for field activities, with a focus on coordinating referrals, safeguarding training and incident reporting. The role targets women participants for disclosures and involves supporting field teams in Kano, Nigeria.

What you would do

• Verify and publish the Kano referral directory before fieldwork.
• Deliver safeguarding, PSEA, GBV-sensitive interviewing and psychological first aid during the 8-day enumerator training.
• Ensure all 52 field staff are vetted and sign the Code of Conduct prior to deployment.
• Manage the complaints and feedback line during baseline fieldwork and respond to concerns within 48 hours.
• Handle disclosures and referrals with consent and report safeguarding incidents to the Partner within 24 hours.
• Prepare the baseline safeguarding summary for the Partner.

What they are asking for

• Bachelor's degree; MSc preferred in Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, Law or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in GBV, child protection or PSEA roles.
• Training in survivor-centred approaches and psychological first aid.
• Knowledge of referral services in Kano.
• Fluent in Hausa and English.
• Preferred experience: safeguarding support to research or survey teams and experience training field staff.
