Risk & Compliance Officer
About this role
Swift Consulting in Lagos is looking for a Risk & Compliance Officer to identify, assess, monitor and mitigate risks across the business while ensuring activities comply with applicable laws, regulations and internal policies. The role supports strengthening internal controls, protecting company and investor interests, and promoting a strong risk culture across the organisation.
What you would do
- Identify, assess, document, and monitor risks across financial, operational, regulatory and business areas.
- Develop and maintain risk management and compliance frameworks, policies and procedures.
- Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies; conduct periodic risk assessments.
- Review processes and implement internal controls to minimise risk; monitor financial activities for unusual patterns.
- Support risk management around hire-purchase, vehicle financing, asset management, investor funds and driver operations; ensure proper documentation.
- Conduct compliance reviews, internal audits and control checks; identify weaknesses and recommend corrective actions; maintain risk register and prepare periodic reports.
What they are asking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Risk Management, Law, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in risk management, compliance, internal audit, financial services, fintech, investment or related industry.
- Strong understanding of risk management principles, internal controls, compliance and corporate governance.
- Experience identifying and mitigating operational and financial risks; good knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements in the Nigerian environment.
- Strong analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills; ability to handle confidential information; strong report-writing and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other analytical/reporting tools; professional certification such as ICAN, CISI, or relevant risk/compliance certification will be an added advantage.
