Risk and Internal Control Analyst

About this role

The role is for a Risk and Internal Control Analyst based in Lagos, created to support the company’s operational, emerging, information and reputation risk management as well as internal control policies. It involves ensuring a consistent framework to identify, measure, mitigate, report and monitor significant risks, and to support daily processes that alert management to issues and risk changes. The role requires coordinating with second and first line risk functions, internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring alignment with AXA Group Internal Control framework. The position works closely with management, risk functions, and audits to maintain and improve internal control standards across the organisation.

What you would do

• Maintain oversight of internal control projects and framework implementation.
• Share and maintain internal control reports with management.
• Coordinate internal control governance across risk management functions.
• Collaborate with risk-related functions and first-line risk managers to receive risk alerts.
• Work with stakeholders to implement risk management standards and frameworks.
• Monitor and report on risk appetite statements and limits for operational risk.
• Participate in committees and projects to strengthen business unit risk awareness.
• Provide methodological support on internal control to management.
• Ensure communication on internal control matters supports ownership and accountability.
• Facilitate implementation of the AXA Group Internal Control framework and ensure timely reporting on deficiencies.
