Research Assistant Intern
About this role
The role is for a Research Assistant Intern in Abuja, supporting the AgriNova Africa pilot by gathering and organising country-level evidence to inform a 12-month programme focused on young farmers and digital solutions. It targets candidates with an interest or background in agriculture, development, and digital ecosystems, capable of conducting desk and field research under project supervision.
What you would do
- Conduct desk and field research on agriculture, youth, extension and digital agriculture ecosystems.
- Profile target young farmer segments by demographics, farm characteristics and digital maturity.
- Collect evidence on farmer decisions and challenges across production and market stages.
- Identify and map existing digital agricultural services and platforms relevant to young farmers.
- Document evidence on platform reach, adoption, effectiveness and integration opportunities.
- Prepare and present concise country context briefs, evidence tables and ecosystem maps.

- Bachelor’s degree or final-year undergraduate/ recent graduate in a related field.
- Demonstrated interest or exposure to agriculture, digital agriculture, youth in agriculture or development programs.
- Experience in research, data collection, surveys, interviews or field studies is desirable.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; familiarity with digital data-collection tools is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
