Research and Development (RandD) Supervisor
About this role
Amel International Services Limited is recruiting for an R&D Supervisor to lead product innovation, formulation development and product improvement within its food manufacturing operations. The role is based in Lagos Mainland and reports to the Head of Supply Chain. The R&D unit operates separately from the QC department. The company focuses on baking lines and breakfast cereals and seeks someone to drive formulations, trials and cost optimization.
What you would do
- Maintain technical documentation and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with QC, Production, Procurement and other departments to support product commercialization.
- Evaluate raw materials, ingredients and packaging compatibility.
- Conduct laboratory trials, factory-scale trials and shelf-life studies.
- Develop and optimise formulations, processes and production costs.
- Lead new product development and existing product improvement.
What they are asking for
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in food manufacturing and R&D.
- BSc in Food Science and Technology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry or related discipline.
- Practical experience in product formulation, process optimisation and product trials.
- Experience with powdered food products and dry blending is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and technical reporting skills.
