Representative - Sales and Trade Development

About this role

MTN Nigeria is recruiting for a Representative in Sales and Trade Development. The role focuses on managing and developing trade infrastructure and financial services through distribution channels, especially retailers, to ensure MTN dominance at retail in the assigned territory. The position involves building relationships between distributors, sub-dealers and retailers, supporting trade partners, managing events and promos, and gathering market feedback. The goal is to increase brand visibility, ensure product availability, and provide channel training and reporting from the field. The job is based in Abuja, Bida - Niger, in the North Central region, reporting to the Manager of Sales and Trade Development Niger Division.

What you would do

• Build and maintain relationships with distributors, sub-dealers, retailers and trade partners.
• Support trade partners and link subs, retailers to trade partners.
• Manage events and promotions; prepare promo specifications and conduct post-promo evaluations.
• Resolve issues related to activations, products and promotions.
• Gather market information and provide feedback to management.
• Support outlets with 100% merchandising as defined.
• Monitor network quality and sales impacting indices in the territory and report findings.
• Provide informal product/service/promotions training in shops and on-the-spot coaching at outlets.
• Increase brand awareness through signage, POS distribution and targeting visibility in the channel (65% visibility measured by trade marketing).
• Ensure product availability in the channel is above 95% and report weekly availability for visited outlets.

• Fluent in English.
• Experience in a medium organisation.
• 1–3 years’ experience in a related area, with experience working with others.
• Sales and marketing experience in a fast-moving consumer goods environment.
