About this role

Axios is hiring a reporter who will be the subject matter expert on the business side of the defence industry. The role focuses on following the money in defence, including venture capital, startups, M&A, public companies and procurement, and explaining how Pentagon priorities and industrial policy affect investments and corporate strategy. You will contribute to a bi-weekly newsletter and break news on financial aspects shaping defence. The position requires strong writing, stage presence for interviews, and ability to collaborate across teams. The role is remote-optional with a starting salary of $100,000 to $150,000, dependent on location and experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
