Relationship Officer
About this role
EdFin Microfinance Bank is hiring a Relationship Officer for the Surulere area in Lagos. The role focuses on promoting products, origination of new clients, and managing client relationships to build a quality loan portfolio. The officer will assess loan applications, conduct site visits, verify information, present loan terms to the credit committee, and support loan recovery and portfolio monitoring. The position involves building community ties, delivering customer service, and contributing to team objectives. What you would do
- Identify and acquire new clients to build a growing loan portfolio.
- Liaise with community groups, associations and entrepreneurs to grow client base.
- Explain loan programs, procedures, terms, incentives and penalties to potential clients.
- Evaluate loan applications and assess repayment capacity and willingness.
- Complete loan applications and evaluations accurately.
- Conduct site visits and verify information related to loan proposals.
- Present loan terms to the credit committee and obtain approvals.
- Participate in credit committees and contribute to loan decision processes.
- Provide high-quality customer service and maintain client relationships.
- Monitor repayment performance and implement late repayment recovery procedures.

- HND or BSc in Business, Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
- Must have completed NYSC.
- Knowledge of the local area where the role is based.
- Strong interpersonal and financial analysis skills.
- Ability to assess client character and creditworthiness.
- Computer literacy.
- Ability to work independently with integrity.
- Experience in credit or financial services is an added advantage.
