About this role
The Registrar is a principal officer responsible to the Rector for the daily administration of the polytechnic, serving as Secretary to the Governing Council and Academic Board, and managing the Registry in line with Polytechnic rules. The role targets candidates with substantial experience in higher education administration and proven integrity who can lead the Registry staff.
What you would do
- Oversee day-to-day administration of the Polytechnic
- Act as Secretary to the Governing Council and its Committees
- Act as Secretary to the Academic Board
- Maintain statutory and relevant records for the Institution
- Interpret and apply Polytechnic rules and regulations
- Provide leadership and on-the-job training to Registry staff
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree (minimum Second Class Lower) in Arts, Social Sciences or Humanities, with 18 years cognate experience OR a Master's degree with 16 years cognate experience OR a Doctorate with 15 years cognate experience
- Membership of a recognised professional body
- Must have worked in a recognised tertiary institution and attained the rank of Deputy Registrar
- Strong knowledge of public service rules and regulations
- Proven integrity and professional judgement in Polytechnic systems
- Computer literacy with ability to use MS-Word and other packages
