What you would do

• Provide individualised midwifery care throughout pregnancy, labour, birth and the postnatal period
• Conduct antenatal assessments and monitor maternal and fetal wellbeing
• Support women to make informed decisions about care and explain options clearly
• Monitor labour progress and provide care during spontaneous vaginal births within scope
• Recognise complications, respond to emergencies and escalate as needed
• Administer medications and treatments within scope and local protocols
• Provide immediate newborn care and assess wellbeing
• Support breastfeeding and infant-feeding choices with guidance
• Deliver postnatal care including recovery checks and discharge preparation
• Maintain accurate and confidential clinical records and participate in team handovers and audits

• Current midwifery registration with the relevant regulatory body
• Recognised midwifery qualification
• Recent hospital, birthing centre or similar maternity care experience
• Current competence in antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care
• Knowledge of maternal and newborn assessment, safe birth practices and escalation procedures
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach
• Ability to work under pressure in a busy clinical environment
• Good documentation skills with electronic or paper records experience
• Commitment to confidentiality, safeguarding, infection prevention and professional standards
• Current life-support training or willingness to complete required training
