Refinery Operator

About this role

This role is for Tropical General Investments (TGI) Group Nigeria in Ogun as a refinery operator. The successful candidate will monitor and control refinery processes using computerised and manual controls, and operate refining steps such as neutralisation, bleaching and deodorisation. They will safely collect samples, identify quality issues and communicate process conditions to the team to help meet production targets.

What you would do

• Monitor and control plant processes using computerised and manual controls.
• Operate refining steps including neutralisation, bleaching and deodorisation.
• Handle equipment such as vacuum, pressure, distillation, heat exchangers, filtration and centrifuge according to process requirements.
• Use the computerised system to control processes and ensure the correct line-up for unit production.
• Safely collect samples to identify product quality issues and communicate field conditions to appropriate personnel.
• Troubleshoot equipment and product issues to meet plant production standards and maintain rated production capacity with required quality.

What they are asking for

• SSCE/ND or degree in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering
• 2-4 years' experience as a refinery operator
• Knowledge of by-product processing such as acid oil and lecithin
