Recruitment Officer

About this role

American University of Nigeria (AUN) in Yola, Adamawa State, is seeking a Recruitment Officer to support end-to-end recruitment. The role involves working with the HR team and hiring managers to attract, screen and select qualified candidates, review position openings and assist in developing job descriptions and vacancy announcements.

What you would do

• Facilitate recruitment activities, interview applicants, evaluate applications, check references, and determine eligibility for university positions.
• Review information concerning position openings and contact hiring officials to prepare for recruitment activities.
• Advise hiring officials on qualification requirements and necessary classification actions where needed.
• Assist in developing job vacancy announcements and posting them on the university site, bulletin board, newspapers and other sources.
• Ensure policy consistency and equity in the employment process, providing recruitment, interviewing, selection, placement, orientation and redeployment support.
• Maintain stock of HR forms and track start and end dates for part-time and contract staff.

• BSc or HND in a related field.
• Two to three years post NYSC experience.
• Knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines.
• Knowledge of federal and state employment and benefit laws.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to analyse data and provide recommendations.
• Proficiency in MS Office; ability to maintain accuracy and confidentiality of personnel records.
