Reconciliation and Settlements Manager
About this role
Duplo is seeking a Reconciliation & Settlements Manager in Lagos to oversee the accurate and timely settlement and reconciliation of the company’s financial transactions across banking partners, payment processors, merchants and internal systems. The role is aimed at a senior professional with extensive experience in settlement, reconciliation and financial operations within fintech or banking environments.
What you would do
- Own the end-to-end settlement process for Duplo's payment products
- Validate settlement reports from banks and processors
- Monitor settlement processing and resolve failures
- Reconcile daily transactions across internal systems and partner records
- Monitor liquidity and escalate funding risks
- Investigate settlement and reconciliation incidents and maintain logs
What they are asking for
- 8+ years of experience in settlement, reconciliation, payment operations, treasury, or financial operations
- Experience in fintech, banking, payments or related financial services with understanding of the Nigerian payments ecosystem
- Experience handling transaction exceptions, reversals, failed transactions and discrepancies; experience managing relationships with banks and payment service providers
- Experience collaborating with Product and Engineering; strong stakeholder management
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets with data analysis; SQL knowledge desirable; familiarity with BI tools such as Metabase, Power BI, or Looker is an advantage
- Understanding of payment APIs, wallets, ledgers, settlement files, NIBSS, card acquiring, and Visa/Mastercard settlements; strong attention to detail and problem-solving; ability to lead a team
