About this role

The role involves operating and maintaining radio communication systems to support safe and reliable communication across offshore, onshore, marine, drilling, construction and industrial operations. It is for candidates with qualifications in telecommunications or related engineering disciplines and relevant experience in radio operations.

What you would do

• Operate radio communication systems across offshore, onshore, marine, drilling, construction and industrial operations.
• Monitor radio channels to maintain continuous communication with field personnel, vessels, aircraft, control rooms, emergency response teams and facilities.
• Transmit and receive radio communications in accordance with established procedures.
• Conduct routine checks of radios, antennas, batteries, chargers, repeaters and related equipment.
• Identify communication faults and coordinate troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance with technical support teams.
• Manage radio frequencies, channels, call signs and communication protocols.

What they are asking for

• OND, HND, Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Telecommunications, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Communications or related discipline.
• Relevant experience in radio operations, telecommunications, marine communications, aviation communications, offshore operations or industrial communications.
• Knowledge of VHF, UHF, HF, marine, digital and other radio systems.
• Experience operating two-way radios, base stations, repeaters, antennas and related equipment.
• Familiarity with radio communication protocols, call signs, frequency management and emergency communication procedures.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic radio and communication equipment faults.
