CFL Group is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor for its Lagos operations. The role involves estimating costs, preparing budgets and Bills of Quantities, managing contracts, and controlling costs across construction projects. Responsibilities include producing cost reports, evaluating bids and variation claims, preparing interim valuations and final accounts, and conducting site measurements and inspections. The position targets professionals with solid quantity surveying experience in real estate or construction, and membership with NIQS or similar registration is an advantage. What you would do
- Prepare cost reports for management
- Monitor construction costs and ensure budgets are followed
- Prepare Bills of Quantities, cost estimates and project budgets
- Evaluate contractor quotations, tenders, and variation claims
- Prepare interim valuations, payment certificates and final accounts
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
- Conduct detailed measurements and material take-offs
- Liaise with engineers, architects, contractors and project managers
- Conduct site inspections to verify completed work and materials used
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, contractual terms and company policies
What they are asking for
- Minimum of 5 years practical experience in real estate or construction
- Strong analytical, negotiation, communication and reporting skills
- Membership of NIQS or relevant professional registration is an advantage
- Proficiency in BOQ preparation, cost estimation, tendering and contract administration
- Knowledge of QS tools and software; experience with CostX, PlanSwift, Bluebeam Revu is an advantage
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ability to use AutoCAD
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects
- BSc/HND in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
- Experience with Microsoft Project and quantity surveying software
- Excellent MES (measurement and estimation) capabilities
