About this role
A Quantity Surveyor is sought by PeopleVantage Consulting Limited in Uyo, Akwa Ibom. The role centres on managing construction cost estimation, measurement, valuation and cost control to keep project expenditure within budgets and contractual requirements. The firm provides HR and corporate administration consulting and supports projects across construction and related services. The position targets candidates with significant experience in cost estimation, measurement and contract administration for large-scale projects. What you would do
- Prepare cost estimates, BOQs and material take-offs
- Review drawings and specifications to determine quantities and cost implications
- Support project budgeting, cost planning and forecasting
- Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets
- Measure completed works and prepare interim valuations and payment applications
- Verify contractors' and subcontractors' claims before recommending payments
- Conduct site measurements to confirm quantities of work executed
- Maintain records of measurements, valuations and payments
- Review contract documents, scope of work and pricing schedules
- Assess variations and prepare variation estimates and registers
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Quantity Surveying
- Minimum 5–8 years' relevant construction experience
- Experience in large-scale building, high-rise, healthcare or institutional projects is an advantage
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QS software such as CostX or Cubit
- Strong knowledge of construction measurement, BOQs, cost estimation and contract administration
- Membership of NIQS or registration with QSRBN is an advantage
