Quality Coordinator
About this role
The role is for a Quality Coordinator at an indigenous Oil and Gas Engineering / Construction company in Lagos. The person will oversee the implementation of project quality management systems, ensuring activities, materials, workmanship and deliverables meet approved specifications, contractual requirements and industry standards. They will coordinate inspections, maintain quality records, monitor non-conformances and support continuous improvement throughout project execution. The employer is a firm providing HR and advisory services, linked to an oil and gas engineering and construction service provider.
What you would do
- Coordinate the implementation of project quality plans, ITPs and quality procedures.
- Ensure construction and engineering activities comply with drawings, specifications and quality requirements.
- Coordinate quality inspections, tests, audits and verification activities with project teams.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, inspectors and project personnel on quality matters.
- Review quality records, inspection reports, material certificates and test results.
- Monitor identification, documentation and resolution of non-conformances.
- Coordinate corrective and preventive actions and track their closure.
- Ensure materials and equipment meet quality requirements before acceptance or installation.
- Support quality audits and verify compliance with procedures and standards.
- Maintain quality registers, inspection records, non-conformance reports and quality performance reports.
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Engineering, Quality Management or related discipline.
- Minimum of 4 to 6 years experience in quality assurance or quality control, preferably in oil and gas or industrial construction.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and relevant oil and gas standards.
- Experience with quality plans, ITPs, inspection records, non-conformance reports and corrective action processes.
- Familiarity with welding, piping, fabrication, civil works, mechanical installation or other relevant project activities is an advantage.
- Relevant quality management or inspection certifications are an advantage.
- Strong analytical, documentation, coordination and problem-solving skills.
