Quality Assurance Specialist
About this role
A Quality Assurance Specialist is needed to oversee food safety, hygiene and quality control in a canteen/kitchen setting in Ibadan, Oyo. The role targets individuals with experience in food safety, quality assurance or hygiene management who can supervise QA activities and coordinate training and inspections.
What you would do
- Enforce adherence to QA, food-safety and safety-control programmes
- Verify temperature controls across receiving, storage, preparation, cooking, holding and service
- Review logs, records and incident reports; monitor quality and customer complaints
- Conduct inspections of canteen, kitchen, store and service areas; verify cleaning and corrective actions
- Identify non-conformities, assign corrective actions and track closure; escalate urgent risks
- Coordinate training for staff and support incident investigations and audit readiness
What they are asking for
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in food safety, quality assurance or hygiene management
- Degree or HND in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Environmental Health, Safety or related field
- Relevant food-safety/HSE training (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000) is advantageous
- Experience in catering or industrial canteens is highly preferred
- Experience in a high-standard client environment is an advantage
- Core competencies in food-safety awareness, risk assessment, auditing, documentation and training
