Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer (Hybrid)

About this role

Caava Group is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer in Lagos on a hybrid basis. The role supports testing for the Evolve insurance management platform, including API and frontend workflows, through manual, exploratory and automated testing. The QA Engineer will work with software engineers and product teams to identify defects, verify fixes, and ensure test coverage. The position provides a progression path to Associate QA Engineer based on performance and business needs. What you would do

• Translate requirements into test cases and test assigned REST APIs using Postman or similar tools
• Validate API schemas, status codes, authentication, authorisation, error handling and edge cases
• Maintain API test collections and record results against coverage
• Verify OpenAPI/Swagger documentation against API behaviour and address gaps with engineers
• Perform manual, exploratory, cross-browser and responsive testing of Evolve workflows
• Test forms, validation and user journeys, reproduce UI and usability issues
• Build and maintain API and UI automation within the team’s framework with review
• Manage test data and fixtures and run tests in CI, investigate failures
• Write reproducible defect reports with steps and expected versus actual results
• Verify fixes, run regression tests and escalate blockers or quality risks early

• Ability to document test results clearly and explain defects with evidence
• Attention to detail and curiosity about how user workflows and systems behave
• Clear communication, follow-through on tasks and willingness to ask for help when blocked
