Quality Assurance and Quality Control Officer – Valves

What you would do

• Randomly sample valves and inspect them with gauges.
• Verify products against work orders or blueprints.
• Identify defects, reject defective items, and categorise by defect type.
• Arrange for repairs or fixes of minor problems.
• Record inspection results and calculate defect proportions for reports.
• Collaborate with Plant and Engineering managers to determine causes of recurring defects.
• Conduct product tests and assessments to ensure specifications and functionality.
• Witness hydrostatic, pneumatic and seat leakage tests.
• Support the actualisation of API 6D standards.
• Act as valve storekeeper and equipment logger when required.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Petroleum Engineering, Physics, Geology, IT or related discipline.
• Experience in a valve assembly plant is essential.
• Additional certifications (ISO 9001 Internal Auditor, HSE Levels 1–3, ASNT Level II, Coating Inspection) are advantageous.
• Knowledge of ASME and API 510/570/598 is advantageous.
• At least 3 years of QAQC experience in a production environment.
• Solid product testing and valve inspection/testing experience.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Good verbal and written communication; ability to interpret diverse instructions.
• Safety-conscious, self-motivated, able to work independently or in a team.
• Understanding of blueprints, mathematics, and valve components.
