Ellasot Consulting is recruiting on behalf of a reputable organisation for an experienced Purchasing Officer to oversee purchasing functions. The role involves sourcing suppliers, obtaining and comparing quotations, purchasing goods and services, and ensuring timely delivery of quality materials at competitive prices. The officer will maintain purchasing records, build supplier relationships, and ensure compliance with company policies and budgets. What you would do

• Identify and source reliable suppliers and vendors
• Obtain and compare quotations to ensure competitive pricing
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules and other conditions
• Prepare purchase orders and ensure proper authorisation
• Monitor orders and follow up on timely delivery
• Inspect delivered goods against specifications and quality standards
• Maintain records of purchases, supplier information, invoices and delivery notes
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers
• Monitor inventory levels and liaise with relevant departments to identify needs
• Prepare periodic purchasing reports and identify cost-saving opportunities

• Minimum of an OND or HND in Purchasing and Supply, Business Administration, Logistics or related field
• Previous experience in purchasing or procurement is an advantage
• Knowledge of supplier sourcing, quotation analysis and negotiation techniques
• Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong numerical, analytical and record-keeping abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• High integrity, accountability and attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
• Competencies in supplier relationship management, negotiation, planning and organisation, inventory and purchase order management, analytical and problem-solving, communication and teamwork, integrity and compliance
