Protection Coordinator
About this role
The Protection Coordinator role at INTERSOS in Borno involves defining and guiding the protection strategy and programme in collaboration with the Head of Mission. The post delivers technical guidance to the protection team to ensure high-quality protection activities aligned with INTERSOS standards and international principles. It also includes overseeing and coordinating related logistics, supply, and ICT components as they pertain to protection activities, and representing INTERSOS in meetings with authorities and other organisations. The position reports to the Head of Mission and supervises the Protection Manager and the protection team. The role is based at a non-family duty station and supports mission-wide protection objectives within INTERSOS operations in the region.
What you would do
- Participate in defining and updating annual project planning and budgets for protection activities
- Monitor the implementation of logistics, supply and ICT related to protection projects
- Ensure compliance with INTERSOS standards and donor requirements across the mission
- Provide technical reference and coaching for logistics, supply and ICT related to protection
- Produce mission level SOPs for logistics needs if necessary
- Provide monthly technical/logistics reporting to the Head of Mission and regional coordinators
- Ensure data in INTERSOS logistics software is accurate and properly used
- Oversee procurement planning and ensure cost-effective procurement aligned with policies
- Coordinate with Administration and Finance to ensure timely payments to suppliers
- Support field audits and contract management for logistics and facilities

- Fluency in relevant languages (as applicable)
- Willingness to work in a non-family duty station in a crisis area
