Project Manager (Controls)
About this role
Benmaris Limited is seeking a Project Manager (Controls) in Abuja. The company provides manpower, financial consultancy and general contracting services, with experience in facilities management, procurement, design and build, project management, construction and related engineering works. The role involves developing and maintaining integrated schedules, coordinating multiple stakeholders, managing budgets and variations, and leading quality and HSE integration into planning. It requires experience in project controls or management within oil and gas, LNG or industrial construction, and proficiency with planning tools. The position targets candidates experienced in contractor management and reporting, with exposure to EPC environments or modular plant installations.
What you would do
- Develop and maintain Level 2/3 schedules, critical path, look-ahead plans and progress rules
- Prepare weekly dashboards and monthly reports on schedule variance, forecast completion, cost, cash flow, risk and recovery actions
- Coordinate contractors, vendors, site engineering, QA/QC, HSE and logistics through planning
- Own equipment delivery-to-installation tracker with the Logistics & Customs Coordinator
- Manage budget, commitments, variations, claims and contingency; review contractor invoices against certified, measured work
- Integrate quality and HSE hold points into the schedule and lead constructability reviews
- Plan systemisation, mechanical completion, punch-listing and turnover, and support pre-start-up safety reviews
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline
- 7+ years of project management or project controls experience in oil and gas, LNG, process plant or industrial construction
- Proficiency with Primavera P6 or MS Project and cost-control tools
- PMP, PMI-SP or equivalent is an advantage
- Experience on the owner's side or in an EPC environment, ideally with modular or skid-mounted plant installation
- Strong contractor management, contract administration and change-control skills
- Clear, evidence-based reporting and the confidence to escalate early
