Project Manager
About this role
AppZone Limited in Lagos is looking for a Project Manager to plan and oversee banking and payments software projects. The role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, managing change requests and risks, and ensuring projects align with strategic objectives. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of project management experience, preferably in financial services or technology, with understanding of the full product lifecycle and SDLC.
What you would do
- Create project plans and initiate projects with institutions before kickoff.
- Oversee channel-specific integration implementations and related projects to meet strategic objectives.
- Manage change requests via the organisation's change request process and report on success criteria, metrics, testing and deployment activities.
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, designers, QA engineers and other stakeholders to define requirements, priorities and milestones.
- Maintain a programme status report covering all projects in progress and completed, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation and efficiency in the delivery of solutions.
What they are asking for
- BSc or BEng in Project Management, Engineering or a related field.
- Higher qualifications and/or professional certifications in a related field are advantageous.
- 5+ years of project management experience, including tracking and planning projects in a cross-functional matrix environment; experience with full product lifecycle and SDLC.
- Proficiency in project management, stakeholder management, risk and issues management; scheduling and control using Microsoft Project or similar tools.
- Experience in product management, business requirements gathering and documentation; understanding of SDLC.
- Certifications in PMP, PRINCE2 and SCRUM; knowledge of e-channels, APIs and integration processes; experience delivering lending automation, card issuance, core banking or agency banking products is advantageous.
