Project Engineer (Construction)

A Project Engineer is needed to lead building construction projects from mobilization to handover in Lagos. What you would do
- Lead the site engineers, supervisors, foremen and labour on a daily basis.
- Plan daily and weekly work, assign tasks and track attendance.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, including Tier C contractors.
- Supervise civil and structural works such as setting out, excavation, formwork, reinforcement, concrete, blockwork and finishes.
- Check work against drawings, specifications and approved method statements.
- Raise inspection requests, perform quality checks and maintain snag lists for close-out.
- Order concrete, plant and machinery through procurement.
- Enforce the project HSE plan, PPE use and site rules.
- Prepare daily site diaries and weekly/monthly progress reports with photos.
- Support the QS with valuations, variations and material reconciliation and draft technical reports for client/consultants.
What they are asking for
- BSc or HND in Civil Engineering or Building Technology.
- 5 to 10 years of site-based civil construction experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role managing building projects.
- COREN registration (or actively pursuing) is preferred.
- Experience on high-end residential, commercial, or fit-out projects is a strong advantage.
- Ability to read architectural, structural and MEP drawings.
- Working knowledge of MS Project or Primavera, AutoCAD and MS Office.
- Strong technical writing in English, leadership, decision-making and subcontractor management skills.
- Organised, hands-on and capable of making on-site decisions.
