Project Engineer
About this role
The role is for a Project Engineer who acts as the technical and operational link between the client’s asset team and the maintenance contractor, managing maintenance campaigns, brownfield modifications and shutdown activities in oil and gas projects. It targets candidates with extensive oil and gas maintenance experience, including live plant work and at least one major turnaround or shutdown.
What you would do
- Inspect materials, equipment and processes to maintain quality benchmarks.
- Review client maintenance notifications and SOW to define technical requirements and execution plans.
- Create detailed work packs with method statements, risk assessments and BOQs.
- Lead constructability reviews to identify clashes or access issues in live plants.
- Manage subcontractors to meet HSE and quality standards.
- Oversee MoC processes, identify long-lead items, prepare technical requisitions and evaluate vendor bids.
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical or instrumentation engineering.
- 5 to 7 years in the oil and gas industry.
- At least 3 years in a brownfield or maintenance environment on live plants.
- Experience with static equipment or rotating equipment or E&I systems.
- Proven involvement in at least one major plant turnaround or shutdown.
- Understanding of SOR and reimbursable contract models; familiarity with HAZOP, SIMOPS and handling dangerous goods.
