Project Engineer
About this role
The role is for a Project Engineer to support TECO Limited in Lagos, working with the Project Manager to manage projects from design through completion. You will ensure technical specifications are met, manage communications with clients, contractors and internal teams, and help address technical issues to keep projects on track with time and budget. You will supervise project activities, coordinate resources and schedules, and assist with procurement and vendor management. Site visits, inspections and adherence to safety, environmental and regulatory standards are part of the duties, along with providing technical guidance to the project team. You will prepare progress reports, documentation and project plans including scope of work, work method statements, schedules and budgets.
What you would do
- Assist the Project Manager in overseeing project lifecycle from design to completion.
- Ensure compliance with technical specifications and approved plans.
- Coordinate stakeholders including clients, contractors and internal teams.
- Identify and report technical issues and assist in timely solutions.
- Supervise activities, resources and schedules to ensure timely completion.
- Assist in procurement of materials, equipment and services, and manage vendor relations.
- Perform site visits and inspections for progress and compliance with safety and regulations.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members, subcontractors and vendors.
- Communicate project status and milestones to stakeholders; prepare progress reports and documentation.
- Maintain project documentation such as scope of work, method statements, work breakdown schedules, execution plans, timesheets and budget plans.
What they are asking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Engineering Management, Project Management, or related field.
- 3–6 years of experience in project coordination or engineering project management.
- Experience in mechanical engineering, construction, manufacturing or technical services is an advantage.
