Project Director

About this role

Project Director at Collection Developments to lead a large residential or mixed-use development project in Nigeria. The role includes overall accountability for schedule, cost, quality, safety, client relationships and regulatory compliance, and acts as the primary client liaison. The ideal candidate will have extensive construction leadership experience in Nigeria, with familiarity with the Lagos regulatory environment preferred.

What you would do

• Hold overall accountability for the project across programme, cost, quality, safety, client relationship and regulatory compliance.
• Act as the primary client liaison; attend client meetings and manage client satisfaction.
• Chair weekly project review meetings and review programme reports before issue to the client.
• Make final decisions on design, commercial and programme matters escalated from the project team.
• Approve all change orders, major procurement decisions, subcontract awards and consultant appointments to ensure delivery within the budget and programme.
• Recruit, lead and develop the CDL project team, building a culture of accountability, professionalism and delivery.

What they are asking for

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related field; postgraduate qualification preferred.
• Minimum 18 years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 8 years in a project director or senior leadership role.
• Experience delivering large-scale residential or mixed-use developments in Nigeria, Lagos State preferred.
• Deep familiarity with the Lagos regulatory environment and relevant utility authorities.
• Proven track record delivering complex, multi-block residential projects on time and within budget.
• Experience managing Design and Build contracts and multi-disciplinary consultant teams.
