Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Operator
About this role
Sayed Farms Limited, part of the Agribond Group, operates in the poultry sector and frozen foods distribution. The company is looking for a PLC Operator to manage and monitor automated feedmill production processes in Ibadan, Oyo. The role focuses on operating PLC-controlled equipment, ensuring production efficiency, feed quality and minimal downtime. It involves coordinating with production, quality control and maintenance teams and maintaining records, while complying with safety and operating procedures.
What you would do
- Operate and monitor PLC-controlled feedmill equipment for smooth production
- Control and monitor grinding, batching, mixing, pelleting, cooling and packaging processes
- Watch control panels, alarms, process parameters and equipment performance to fix issues
- Troubleshoot PLC faults and coordinate with maintenance to resolve problems
- Ensure accurate ingredient dosing, batching sequences and adherence to feed formulations
- Maintain production records, batch reports and downtime logs
- Coordinate with production, quality control and maintenance teams to meet targets
- Ensure compliance with operational procedures, safety, housekeeping and equipment guidelines
- Assist in maintaining feed quality standards
- Support shift work and handovers as required
What they are asking for
- OND, HND or Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation or related field
- Minimum of three years' experience operating PLC-controlled systems in manufacturing or feedmill environments
- Practical knowledge of PLC systems, control panels and automated equipment
- Experience with feedmill processes such as grinding, batching, mixing and pelleting is advantageous
- Ability to interpret alarms and coordinate with maintenance for troubleshooting
- Basic computer skills and ability to maintain accurate production records
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills and willingness to work shifts
