Program Manager

About this role

Role in Lagos coordinates the planning, implementation, monitoring and review of GBV prevention and protection programs for a nonprofit or development organisation. It is suitable for a strategic, proactive professional with substantial programme management experience in GBV and protection work within the development sector.

What you would do

• Coordinate the planning, implementation, monitoring and review of assigned programs to ensure activities are delivered within agreed timelines and budgets.
• Support development and refinement of program plans, implementation frameworks, workplans and activity schedules aligned with organisational priorities.
• Ensure program activities are implemented in accordance with GBV, protection, safeguarding, survivor-centred and trauma-informed principles.
• Monitor program implementation and use data and learning to improve quality, reach and sustainability.
• Build and maintain relationships with government institutions, community stakeholders, implementing partners, civil society organisations; represent the organisation at meetings and forums as delegated.
• Support funding opportunities and donor submissions, including concept notes, budgets and grant reporting.

• Master's or bachelor's degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Gender Studies, International Development, Public Policy, Human Rights, Project Management or related field.
• At least 5-7 years of progressive experience in program or project management, preferably within NGOs, civil society organisations, international development organisations, or the gender/GBV sector.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating and implementing development, GBV prevention and response, protection, safeguarding, survivor-centred programming.
• Good understanding of GBV programming, survivor-centred approaches, trauma-informed principles, safeguarding and protection standards; experience with planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting and documentation.
• Experience working with donors or development partners and contributing to proposal development, grant implementation, budgeting and reporting.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and coordination skills with government institutions, partners and civil society organisations; strong organisational and project management skills; analytical and problem-solving abilities; strong written and verbal communication; high emotional intelligence, empathy, integrity and discretion.
