Program Coordinator in a Community-Focused NGO - BA Gladiators Limited
About this role
The Program Coordinator will plan, coordinate and deliver the NGO’s programmes, with a focus on the yearly Sweet Fragrance initiative, while also seeking funding and managing grant applications. The role targets individuals with programme management experience in NGO or community settings, based in Rivers State.
What you would do
- Organise educational and music competitions including all logistics and publicity.
- Engage with beneficiaries, community leaders, schools, volunteers and partners; represent the organisation at meetings and events.
- Plan and run programmes, outreaches, workshops and events with work plans, schedules, budgets and logistics.
- Prepare programme, donor and sponsor reports; maintain records and monitor expenditure with the finance team.
- Identify potential sponsors, sponsors’ benefits and coordinate sponsorship activities and recognitions.
- Research funding opportunities and prepare grant proposals, concept notes and applications.
What they are asking for
- 2 to 4 years of experience coordinating programmes or projects, preferably in an NGO, charity or community-based organisation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Public Administration, Project Management, Education or related field; postgraduate or professional qualification is an advantage.
- Experience in event coordination, fundraising, sponsorship or grant writing is an advantage.
- Excellent written and spoken communication; proposal writing skills.
- Strong planning, organisation, time management and stakeholder management.
- Willingness to travel within Port Harcourt and to programme locations; basic knowledge of monitoring, evaluation and data management; problem-solving and attention to detail; proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace.
