The Federal University Gusau (FUGUS) is inviting applications for a full Professor of Private and Business Law in the Faculty of Law. The position requires substantial research, postgraduate supervision, and leadership along with a PhD and extensive teaching experience. The closing date is 18 November 2026.

• Provide leadership in the Department/Faculty
• Engage in postgraduate supervision at Master’s and Ph.D. levels
• maintain an active research record and publish scholarly work
• oversee academic mentoring and administrative duties
• contribute to programme and policy development
• prepare and submit referees' reports for applications

• PhD in Private and/or Business Law
• at least 12 years of university teaching experience
• at least 3 years in a role equivalent to Reader or meet approved equivalent criteria
• substantial and continuing research output (not less than 15 journal publications) and at least 10 edited conference proceedings
• evidence of postgraduate supervision at Master’s and Ph.D. levels
• evidence of academic leadership and administrative competence
