Production Supervisor in a Plastic Manufacturing Company - Worknigeria

A plastic manufacturing company in Abia is hiring a Production Supervisor for its Aba plant. The role involves overseeing daily production, including manpower, machinery, material, and output, with a focus on delivering quality products on time at target costs and maintaining a zero-downtime culture. The job targets candidates with hands-on experience in injection moulding and a proven ability to manage large production teams across shifts. The employer operates primarily in injection moulding for household plastics, industrial containers and custom OEM products. The position reports to the Plant/Operations Manager and is based in Osisioma Aba, Abia as a full‑time role.
What you would do
- Reduce changeover time
- Control scrap rate under 2%
- Meet daily tonnage/units targets with 100% OEE focus
- Plan and execute daily/weekly production schedules
- Maintain mold register, machine logbook and downtime tracker
- Collaborate with maintenance on preventive maintenance
- Manage injection moulding, blow moulding and extrusion machines
- Enforce SOPs for material mixing, heating, cycle times
- Ensure first-off approval, inline QC, weight and thickness control
- Lead and discipline over 200 production staff across shifts
What they are asking for
- 3–5 years’ experience in plastics manufacturing with work in injection moulding as Production Manager or Shift Manager
- Resident in Aba or willing to relocate
- BEng or HND in Mechanical, Polymer, Chemical, Industrial Engineering or equivalent factory experience
- Strong Excel skills and basic ERP/production log systems
- Hands-on experience with molds, hydraulics, heaters and robotics
- Experience managing 30+ factory workers in Aba, Onitsha or Nnewi industrial environments
- Willingness to work across shifts and manage a factory team
