Production Manager

What you would do
- Collaborate with maintenance to set up preventive maintenance schedules for production equipment

- Supervise production supervisors, team leaders, machine operators and other production staff
- Assign duties to personnel and optimise manpower across units
- Maintain housekeeping and ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality Control, Stores, Logistics and HR to ensure smooth operations
- Identify and implement ways to reduce defects, rework and material waste
- Monitor production reports, machine performance, labour productivity and downtime to find improvements
- Document production output, downtime, material use, rejected products and shift handovers
- Plan and oversee daily production activities to meet targets

- Minimum of 5 years in plastic manufacturing with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and production reporting systems
- Practical knowledge of injection moulding, blow moulding and plastic processing machinery
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Polymer Engineering or related field
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Experience supervising a large production workforce and coordinating multiple units
- Strong leadership, analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Good understanding of production planning, capacity utilisation, quality assurance, preventive maintenance and cost control
- Excellent communication, decision-making and team management abilities
- Demonstrable experience managing production operations in a plastic manufacturing company
