Production Geologist
About this role
A Production Geologist is needed to provide geological support for field development, drilling and production across OML 30, working with a technical team to build reservoir models and support well planning and reserves assessments. The role targets an experienced geologist who can lead data integration, modelling and technical oversight in a Nigerian oil and gas environment.
What you would do
- Prepare and update subsurface depth and structural maps for fields across OML 30.
- Develop geological and stratigraphic sections to support field reviews and evaluations.
- Monitor drilling operations and compare actual results with planned trajectories.
- Manage and archive well data including logs, surveys, formation tops and stratigraphic data.
- Collaborate with Reservoir Engineers to determine well locations and integrate data from multiple disciplines.
- Build and update 3D geocellular models and conduct advanced seismic interpretation and reservoir characterization.
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geophysics, Earth Science or related discipline with at least Second-Class Lower honours.
- Master's degree is an advantage.
- Membership of professional bodies (NAPE, NMGS or AAPG) and COMEG registration preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years' relevant oil and gas experience.
- Strong experience in production geology, reservoir characterisation and geological modelling.
- Advanced knowledge of seismic interpretation, structural mapping and modelling tools (Petrel, Techlog).
