About this role
A Production Chemist role for Terra Energy Services Nigeria Limited, focused on managing and optimising production chemistry for crude oil, produced water, and production systems in upstream oil and gas operations. The position is suited for experienced professionals with strong chemistry expertise who can work with multi-disciplinary teams and ensure safety and compliance in offshore or similar environments.
What you would do
- Manage and optimise production chemical treatment programmes for crude oil, produced water, and production systems
- Conduct, review and interpret crude oil, produced-water and chemical performance analyses
- Monitor and optimise treatment programmes for corrosion, scale, emulsion, wax, hydrate and flow-assurance control
- Monitor chemical injection performance and adjust to improve treatment effectiveness and reliability
- Troubleshoot chemistry-related process upsets and production challenges, recommending corrective actions
- Support laboratory testing, QA/QC, and manage chemical inventory, SDS, documentation and records
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Chemistry or related field
- 10+ years of relevant oil and gas experience with strong upstream E&P exposure
- Hands-on experience in production chemistry and chemical treatment in offshore or similar environments
- Knowledge of production chemistry principles, chemical treatment programmes, lab analysis, corrosion, scale, emulsion and flow-assurance management
- Desirable: relevant certifications in chemistry, corrosion, process safety or professional memberships; BOSIET/HUET and offshore medical certification if deployed offshore
- Excellent data interpretation, reporting, and communication skills
