Product UI/UX Designer
About this role
The role is for a Product UI/UX Designer to refine and finish an existing healthcare and aesthetics marketplace platform, preparing it for production. The designer will work with the Lead Technology Officer to improve usability, visual quality and consistency, and to build a production-ready design system. It targets a UK-based marketplace serving patients, practitioners, clinics and administrators, with delivery across marketplace discovery, onboarding, bookings, payments, dashboards, and communication. The project involves refining an established prototype rather than starting from scratch and emphasises collaboration with engineers. The position is freelance/contract and located in Lagos, with focus on producing responsive, accessible designs and a reusable design system.
What you would do
- Review the existing prototype to identify usability and visual improvements
- Refine layouts, typography, spacing, navigation, forms and interaction patterns
- Complete missing screens and interface states (loading, empty, error, etc)
- Ensure intuitive, consistent user journeys across the platform
- Develop and maintain a production-ready design system
- Create responsive designs for desktop, tablet and mobile
- Apply accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2 AA)
- Prepare organised Figma files, components and specifications for development
- Specify usage of icons from the asset library
- Collaborate with the Lead Technology Officer to support implementation and perform design QA

- At least 3 years of UI/UX or digital product design experience
- Strong portfolio showing thoughtful product design and attention to detail
- Experience designing complex web applications, dashboards, multi-step workflows and forms
- Understanding of responsive design, interaction patterns and accessibility
- Experience building reusable design systems and component libraries
- Ability to translate complex requirements into intuitive interfaces
- Experience collaborating with developers and preparing designs for implementation
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain design decisions
- Figma proficiency with experience in auto layout, components, variants and reusable libraries
- Experience with marketplaces, healthcare platforms, booking systems, SaaS, fintech or regulated products is an advantage
